Scope and Contents

Cleanliness and waste-management are crucial elements of any civic society. Indore, India’s cleanest city for the last seven years, has proven itself to be an inspiring role model for its peers. Effective waste management relies heavily on multifarious systems and procedures. It is a result of specialised infrastructure, a disciplined workforce spread out across a multitude of fields, relentless campaigning, and a multiplicity of other community efforts. In the wake of Prime Minister Modi launching the Swachh Bharat Campaign in 2014, Indore set for itself the ambitious goal of achieving high standards of cleanliness.
