All Is Well: An Exploration Into the Stepwells of Gujarat, AY 2023-24

The Stepwells of India are etched with India’s rich history and culture. Their walls echo with stories of the daily lives of our ancestors from all ends of the country, the locals coming in for hydration and socialising while the stepwells provided the traders and tourists with a sanctuary for rest for their journey. This research paper investigates the current relevance of Stepwells in India by examining the Stepwells in Gujarat (Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Patan) with an emphasis on the popular Adalaj Stepwell.
